Every hardware-wallet guide written for Europe or the US falls apart at the same point for a reader in Riyadh: "order it from the official shop". Ledger solves that by sitting on a shelf at Jarir. Tangem solves it differently. Its delivery page lists Saudi Arabia by name, with a timeframe and a price, which is rarer than it should be. That alone earns it a place on this site. Whether it deserves a place in your pocket depends on a design choice most people have never met before: a wallet with no seed phraseSeed phraseThe 12 or 24 English words that back up a normal crypto wallet. Anyone with the words controls the coins; Tangem's default set-up has none, using spare cards instead..
We read Tangem's delivery list, shop prices and documentation in October 2026. Prices below are the site's own, in US dollars, and exclude the taxes and duties you will pay on import. Anything Tangem does not state for Saudi customers, we flag as unconfirmed.
What Tangem is
A Tangem wallet is a plastic card with a secure chip and an NFCNFCNear-field communication: the short-range radio your phone uses for Apple Pay or mada tap payments. Tangem uses it to pass a signed transaction between card and phone. antenna, nothing else. No screen, no buttons, no battery, no port. The private key is generated inside the chip the first time you activate the card and is designed never to leave it. To send coins you build the transaction in the Tangem app on your phone, hold the card to the back of the phone, and the chip signs it in a second. The phone broadcasts the result. It is the same gesture as paying with Apple Pay at a Panda checkout, which is partly why first-time users find it less intimidating than a device with a cable and a menu.
It is self-custodySelf-custodyYou alone hold the private keys. No company can freeze or recover the coins; the responsibility, and the risk, is yours. in full: no account, no email, no ID check. The app supports Bitcoin, Ethereum and its tokens, Tron and TRC-20 USDT, Solana, BNB Chain, XRP, Dogecoin and a long list of other networks. None of that involves a Saudi regulator. SAMA and the CMA have licensed no crypto business, the 2018 Standing Committee warning remains the official position, and a wallet in your wallet is simply outside the regulated perimeter rather than inside it.
The seedless model, honestly explained
A normal hardware wallet shows you 24 words at set-up and tells you to write them down. Tangem's default does not. The key is created inside the card and cannot be read out as words; instead, the set-up process copies the same key into one or two backup cards in the same session, so each card in your set is a full clone. Lose one, use another. The upside is that there is no sheet of paper for a maid, a house guest or a phishing site to collect, and nothing to type into a fake "Tangem support" form. The downside is symmetrical: lose or destroy every card, and nobody on earth can restore the wallet. That is why the 2-card set at USD 54.90 is the minimum and the 3-card set at USD 69.90 is what we would actually buy, with one card kept somewhere other than your home.
If the idea unsettles you, the classic phrase-based devices are the alternative: a Ledger from Jarir or a SafePal. Whichever you choose, protect each Tangem card with the access code the app asks for at set-up, so a found card is useless on its own. Our view: for a Saudi household that moves between a flat in Jeddah, a family home in the Qassim and travel abroad, spare cards in two cities are a more realistic backup than a paper phrase most people photograph anyway. Just do not treat the cards as disposable.
Ordering to Saudi Arabia
Tangem's international delivery list carries a Saudi Arabia line: standard delivery, 5 to 15 business days, USD 7.99, no express option. Free shipping applies above USD 100 before VAT, which a 3-card set alone does not reach but a family pack (USD 129.80) or a ring plus two cards (USD 160) does. The shop prices exclude taxes and duties, so budget for Saudi import VAT at 15% on the value and any customs duty on top; the courier typically collects it before handing over the parcel. We have not tested an order ourselves, so take the 5–15 days as the company's estimate, not our measurement.
How does that compare to the alternatives you can get here? A Ledger Nano X at Jarir is SAR 669 including VAT, bought today with a local warranty. A SafePal S1 is cheaper on paper at USD 49.99 but we could not confirm it ships to the Kingdom at all. Tangem sits in between: a cross-border order, but a documented one, from a maker that names your country.

Receiving is the same as any wallet: open the app, pick the coin, copy the address, paste it into the withdrawal screen of your exchange. For a Saudi user that exchange is usually CEX.IO for card and Apple Pay purchases in USD (operating since 2013, serving Saudi residents through CEX OVRS LLC with no local licence, like every platform), or Binance, Bybit and OKX for SAR via P2P. Sending takes a tap. Because the card has no screen, you verify the address and amount on the phone, which is the one security step Tangem does less well than Ledger or SafePal; a compromised phone could in theory show you one address and sign another. In practice a locked, store-installed phone is a reasonable trust base for the sums most people keep, but it is a real difference worth knowing.
The app includes a buy function through third-party providers and a swap function priced with a spreadSpreadThe gap between the rate quoted and the market mid-price, where an in-wallet swap provider earns its money.. Neither is documented for Saudi cards or residents, so use the exchange route for buying and compare any swap quote against an order book before confirming. USDT holders: match the network, every time. TRC-20 on the exchange means the Tron address in Tangem, and the app will not stop you from pasting the wrong one.
Setting it up
- Order from tangem.com, to your own address
Choose the 3-card set unless you have a reason not to. Expect VAT and duty on delivery. Check the box seal and that the cards report as new in the app.
- Install the Tangem app from the App Store or Google Play
Not from a link in a chat. Confirm the developer is Tangem before tapping install.
- Activate the first card
Tap it to the phone; the chip generates the key. Set the access code when the app asks; write it down separately from the cards.
- Create the backup cards in the same session
Tap each spare card when prompted so it holds the same key. Then store one card away from home: with family, in a bank safe-deposit box, or in another city.
- Test with a small USDT transfer
Withdraw a few dollars from your exchange, confirm it lands, then send a little back out by tapping the card. Only then move a real balance.
- Keep the cards boring
Treat them like a mada card you cannot replace: not in a wallet you lose, not through a washing machine, not lent to anyone.
The Visa card question
Tangem has announced a Visa card programme linked to its wallet, which naturally interests Saudi readers because almost no crypto card is confirmed for the Kingdom. We found no statement from Tangem that Saudi residents are eligible, no issuer named for the region and no shipping entry for the card, so we classify it as unconfirmed and would not buy the wallet expecting it. If it does open up, the mechanics will be the same as every crypto card: a conversion from your coins to fiat at the moment of payment, with a spread and foreign-exchange cost, settled on the Visa network rather than mada. Until then, the practical way to spend crypto in Saudi Arabia is still to sell for riyals and use your bank card.
- Official delivery entry for Saudi Arabia: 5–15 business days, USD 7.99, free above USD 100
- 2-card set USD 54.90 and 3-card set USD 69.90, among the cheapest cold wallets
- Tap-to-sign over NFC with no cables, batteries or firmware menus
- Seedless backup through clone cards removes the paper phrase from the attack surface
- Access code on each card makes a lost or found card useless on its own
- No screen on the card: you verify addresses on the phone, not on the device
- Lose every card in a seedless set-up and the wallet is unrecoverable
- Import VAT and any duty are added on arrival; prices exclude them
- No Arabic on tangem.com; app language metadata for the Saudi store not checked
- Visa card programme not confirmed for Saudi residents
Verdict
Documented delivery, a price most people can justify, and a signing gesture Saudis already use at every checkout. Buy the 3-card set, keep one card in another place, set an access code, and understand that the phone is your screen. If you want a device that shows the address on its own display, choose Ledger from Jarir; if you want the lowest price and can confirm shipping, SafePal. For everyone else in the Kingdom, this is the one we would order.
Compare it with the software wallets and the other hardware options in our wallets hub, and if the whole idea of self-custody is new, the beginners guide explains why exchanges are for trading and wallets are for keeping. A wallet protects you from third parties, not from price risk or from losing your own cards.
Frequently asked questions
Does Tangem ship to Saudi Arabia?
Yes, officially. Tangem's international delivery list has a Saudi Arabia entry: standard delivery in 5 to 15 business days for USD 7.99, with no express option. Orders over USD 100 before VAT ship free. The prices on the site exclude taxes and duties, so expect Saudi import VAT and any duty to be collected when the parcel arrives.
How much does a Tangem wallet cost?
On tangem.com the 2-card set is USD 54.90 and the 3-card set USD 69.90, both before taxes and duties. Larger bundles exist (a family pack at USD 129.80, a ring plus two cards at USD 160). Add the USD 7.99 shipping below the free-shipping threshold and whatever VAT and duty apply on import.
What does "no seed phrase" mean, and is it safe?
The private key is generated inside the card's chip and never leaves it. Instead of writing down words, you keep one or two backup cards that hold the same key. Lose every card and the funds are gone, so the 3-card set is the sensible choice. If you dislike the idea, a Ledger or SafePal with a written phrase is the classic alternative.
Is the Tangem app available in Saudi Arabia?
The Tangem app is on the App Store and Google Play and the cards are activated through it. We did not check the Saudi listing's language metadata; the tangem.com site itself offers no Arabic, so expect an English interface.
Can I get the Tangem Visa card in Saudi Arabia?
Not confirmed. Tangem has announced a Visa card programme tied to its wallet, but we found no statement that it is open to Saudi residents, and no crypto card we checked is documented as available in the Kingdom. Treat the Visa card as a possible future feature, not a reason to buy today.
What if my phone is lost or stolen?
Nothing happens to your coins. The key is in the card, not the phone, and the app holds no secrets. Install Tangem on a new phone, tap the card, enter your access code, and the wallet is back. A thief with the phone but not the card cannot spend anything.
