BitOasis review for Saudi residents

A Dubai-based exchange whose official app listing names Saudi Arabia among 14 Arab countries and lets you buy in riyals, with bank-transfer purchases advertised at zero fees. Its own website would not load for us, so this review separates what is confirmed from what you must check in the app.

  • SARlisted as a purchase currency with AED and USD
  • 0fees on bank-transfer purchases, per the app listing

BitOasis has been the Gulf's best-known home-grown exchange for years, and for Saudi readers it answers one question more directly than most: does it take us? Its official App Store listing says it is "available to all the residents of 14 Arab countries" and names Saudi Arabia, and it says you can buy crypto in Saudi riyals. That is more than Rain writes on its own pages. The catch is that BitOasis's website blocked our checks, so everything about fees beyond the zero-fee bank-transfer line, and everything about its OTC desk, has to be verified inside the app before you move money.

This is number seven in our exchange comparison. We read the App Store listing in October 2026, a 2021 industry report on its Saudi bank rails and the public reporting on its licence and ownership, and we say in each section which is which.

Who BitOasis suits in Saudi Arabia

It fits the Saudi or expat buyer who wants an Arabic-and-English app from a Gulf company, funded by bank transfer in riyals, without learning how a P2PP2PPeer-to-peer: buying from another user on an exchange, with the platform holding the seller's coins in escrow until your bank transfer is confirmed. market works. It also appeals to anyone who already used it from the UAE and is now posted to Riyadh or Jubail: the same account and app, with SAR instead of AED.

Onboarding follows the usual KYCKYCKnow Your Customer: the identity check (ID document plus selfie, sometimes proof of address) every licensed platform runs before you can deposit or withdraw. pattern for a licensed Gulf broker, so have your passport and Iqama ready before you start.

It fits less well if you need a published fee table to compare routes (CoinMENA has one, BitOasis's we could not load), if you want the lowest spot fee (offshore exchanges quote around 0.1%), or if you want Pi Network, futures or copy trading. The CoinMENA review is the closest like-for-like comparison.

Saudi Arabia in the official app listing

The App Store page, published by BitOasis Technologies FZE, lists the countries it serves: the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, Iraq, Lebanon, Tunisia, Algeria and Libya. It describes the app as available in English and Arabic, rates it 18+, and was updated in October 2026 when we checked. That explicit naming is worth more than the silence of most competitors: Rain's pages never mention Saudi Arabia, and the big offshore exchanges only say what they do not serve.

Riyals, cards and bank transfer

The listing says you can "instantly buy crypto in Saudi riyals (SAR), UAE dirhams (AED), and US dollars" using a debit card, credit card, bank account, bank transfer or wire transfer, and that Recurring Buys can be funded by credit card or Apple Pay. For riyal bank transfers, a 2021 industry report described the mechanism: Saudi customers added a BitOasis bank account as a beneficiary in their own banking app and transferred SAR to it. That report is dated; the current beneficiary details and any name-matching rules are shown in the app after verification, and you should follow those rather than anything older.

Two practical points apply to any Gulf platform. First, send money only from an account in your own name; third-party transfers are the quickest way to a frozen deposit. Second, card purchases from Saudi issuers are hit-and-miss across the industry (mada-only debit cards fail most often; Visa or Mastercard credit and Apple Pay fare better), so a bank transfer is the more predictable route. The bank-transfer guide covers what Saudi banks do with these transfers in practice.

Fees: what is verified and what is not

Here is the honest state of play. The App Store listing contains one fee statement: "Buy crypto via bank transfer with zero fees." That refers to the purchase itself; it does not tell you the spreadSpreadThe gap between the price you pay to buy and the price you get to sell at the same moment. A zero-fee purchase can still cost you through a wide spread. built into the quoted price, the card fee, the wire fee, the trading fee on the exchange side or the SAR withdrawal fee. Those details were not publicly accessible on bitoasis.net when we checked, so we will not guess at them.

How to check in two minutes: after verification, start a riyal purchase, enter SAR 1,000 and compare the quoted coin amount with the mid-market price in our converter or on a price site. The gap is the real cost. Then open the withdrawal screen and note the SAR fee before you need it. If the all-in figure is close to CoinMENA's published 0.75% trading fee plus SAR 117.5 withdrawal, you are in the normal range for a licensed Gulf broker.

VARA, the FZE and the ownership question

The developer of record is BitOasis Technologies FZE, a free-zone company in Dubai. Industry reporting describes BitOasis as licensed by Dubai's Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), the regulator that also licences OKX's Middle East entity and CoinMENA's broker-dealer arm. The App Store listing itself does not name a regulator; a developer reply there calls the company a "regulated financial institution" without saying by whom. Because the website blocked our check, we report the VARA licence as widely reported rather than confirmed on BitOasis's own pages.

Ownership is in the same category. Reporting in 2025 described the Indian exchange CoinDCX completing its acquisition of BitOasis. If accurate, the Saudi user's counterparty is a Dubai entity within an Indian group, which matters for where disputes are heard and where data is held; look for the ownership and governing-law clauses in the in-app terms. Neither a VARA licence nor a parent company changes the Saudi position: no licence in the Kingdom, no complaint channel at SAMA or the CMA, and client protection that stops at the UAE border.

OTC: advertised, not verifiable

BitOasis maintains an OTCOTCOver the counter: a large trade negotiated directly with the exchange's desk at a quoted price, rather than filled on the public order book. page for large trades, and it appears in search results for "crypto OTC desk Saudi Arabia". The page would not load for us, so its minimum ticket, processing fee and whether it onboards Saudi clients are unverified. For a benchmark, CoinMENA publishes OTC from USD 50,000 at 0–0.2%, Kraken from USD 50,000 and Binance from USD 200,000. If you have a six-figure riyal trade to place, read the OTC guide and ask BitOasis's desk for its terms in writing before moving funds.

Opening an account from Saudi Arabia

  1. Install the app and register

The App Store listing is published by BitOasis Technologies FZE; make sure you install that one, not a look-alike. Enable two-factor authentication at once.

  2. Verify your identity

Expect passport or national ID plus a selfie, and possibly proof of address. Iqama-only acceptance is not documented; expats should keep the passport handy. See the KYC guide.

  3. Read the fee screen before depositing

Note the SAR deposit, trading and withdrawal fees and the quoted spread. Compare with CoinMENA's published schedule.

  4. Fund by bank transfer from your own account

Add the beneficiary exactly as the app shows it and match your name in Latin letters. Avoid third-party transfers.

  5. Buy, then withdraw long-term holdings

Move coins you are not trading to a wallet you control; match the network to the receiving address.

What stands out
  • App Store listing explicitly names Saudi Arabia among 14 Arab countries served
  • SAR listed as a purchase currency alongside AED and USD
  • Bank-transfer purchases advertised at "zero fees" in the official listing
  • Arabic and English app from a Gulf company; Apple Pay for recurring buys
  • Dubai VARA licence reported, under a named entity (BitOasis Technologies FZE)
What is missing
  • No Saudi licence or complaint channel (true of every platform)
  • Trading, card, wire and withdrawal fees are not publicly listed; check them in the app
  • VARA licence and CoinDCX ownership not confirmed on the company's own pages
  • OTC minimum, fees and Saudi eligibility unverified
  • Current SAR beneficiary procedure known only from a 2021 report

Verdict

7.0/10
Our score: Names Saudi Arabia out loud, but keep the fee screen open

A credible Gulf option that explicitly serves Saudi residents in riyals and advertises zero-fee bank-transfer purchases. It loses points for the fees we could not verify, the licence and ownership we could only find in reporting, and an OTC desk we could not reach. Verify in-app, then decide.

If you want riyal rails with every fee printed on an official page, the CoinMENA review is the natural next read; for the Bahrain-licensed alternative, see the Rain review. Whatever you pick, crypto can lose value quickly; fund any account only with money you can leave untouched.

Frequently asked questions

Does BitOasis work in Saudi Arabia?

According to its official App Store listing, BitOasis is "available to all the residents of 14 Arab countries" and names Saudi Arabia (KSA) explicitly, alongside the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Jordan, Egypt and others. The listing also says you can buy crypto in Saudi riyals. Its website does not show these details publicly, so confirm riyal deposit instructions inside the app.

Can I deposit Saudi riyals on BitOasis?

The App Store listing says you can "instantly buy crypto in Saudi riyals (SAR), UAE dirhams (AED), and US dollars" by debit card, credit card, bank account, bank transfer or wire. A 2021 industry report described Saudi customers adding a BitOasis bank account as a beneficiary for SAR transfers; the current riyal procedure is shown in-app after verification.

What are BitOasis fees?

The only published figure we could verify is the App Store line "Buy crypto via bank transfer with zero fees". Card, wire, trading and withdrawal fees are not stated in the listing and the website could not be loaded during our check, so read the fee screen in the app before you deposit and compare it with CoinMENA's published SAR schedule.

Is BitOasis licensed in Saudi Arabia?

No. BitOasis Technologies FZE is a Dubai-registered company, and industry reporting describes it as licensed by Dubai's Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA). Neither SAMA nor the Saudi CMA has licensed any crypto exchange, so for a Saudi customer this is a UAE licence with no complaint channel in the Kingdom.

Who owns BitOasis?

Industry reporting in 2025 described the Indian exchange CoinDCX completing an acquisition of BitOasis. We could not verify this on bitoasis.net during our check, so treat it as reported rather than confirmed, and look for the ownership statement in the app's terms before relying on it.

Does BitOasis have an OTC desk for large trades?

BitOasis advertises an OTC page for large transactions, but the page was not publicly accessible when we checked, so its minimum ticket, fees and whether it serves Saudi clients are unverified. CoinMENA publishes an OTC threshold of USD 50,000; our OTC guide compares the realistic options.
