The idea is simple. Most of what is written about crypto for people in Saudi Arabia is either generic content that has never heard of mada or STC Pay, or content written to sell something. We wanted one place that explains how things actually work for a Saudi resident or expat: which platform accepts you, which card goes through, what the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) really says, and what you pay in fees.
Our editorial method
Official sources come first: statements from SAMA, the Capital Market Authority and the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, then the legal pages, support articles and published fee schedules on the exchanges' own sites. Every figure on our pages has a source, and the source list sits at the bottom of each article. Data is checked monthly, and the month of the last check is shown above every article.
When we cannot verify something, we say so. You will read phrases like "not documented on the company's own pages" or "we could not confirm this", because hiding doubt is worse than admitting it. We do not list ATMs, shops or fees we have not seen ourselves in a source you can open.
How we score platforms
Every platform in our exchange comparison is judged on the same five criteria:
- SAR rails: can you fund in riyals through a bank, SARIE, mada or P2P, or is it cards in dollars only?
- Licensing honesty: no exchange is licensed in Saudi Arabia, so we name the entity that actually serves you and where its registrations sit.
- Published fees: we quote the fees printed on the platform's own pages, not estimates from comparison sites.
- Arabic support: an Arabic interface and documented Arabic-language support, or the lack of both.
- Sharia options: Islamic accounts and their certifications where they exist, with the certifying body named.
The score out of 10 sums up those criteria for a resident of the Kingdom specifically, not for a global user.
